Built in 1912 as the Post Office and Postmaster's residence, this iconic building is now a newly renovated villa, providing accommodation in coastal Taranaki / Waikato.

The house is perfect for a large family holiday with a huge bunk room for younger family members

Situated on the Awakino River one hour north of New Plymouth, two hours south of Hamilton and three-and-a-half hours from Auckland it's a haven from city stress and strain. The local area has classic west coast beaches, fishing, hunting, tramping, a golf course and is world famous in New Zealand for its whitebait.

Take a stroll on the wide open black sand beaches, picturesque with Mt Egmont in the background on a clear day. Try your hand at fishing for kahawhai at either the Mokau or Awakino rivermouths, or snapper and gurnard from the beach (we can point you to our favourite spots). There's also great kite or kontiki fishing, with massive snapper landed for those who know where to go....
The famous White Cliffs tramp is only a short drive away, or go for a walk to see the Three Sisters rock formations at low tide. Good surfing is available all down the coast towards New Plymouth.

The house has a large 58 inch LCD TV with Sky, comfortable sofas, and a huge lounge with open fire to spread out in.

Two bedrooms, both with queen size beds, feature paint schemes and wallpaper textures offering a contemporary decor, but sit comfortably with the original features of the home – the high detailed ceilings, wide molded rimu architraves, tall sash windows, and three capacious fireplaces.

The bathroom brings in a dash of today with dark granite floor and wall tiles and a folding glass panel on the bath-shower combination.

Outside the sunny rear kitchen-dining area, there’s a broad timber deck for relaxed entertaining and summer barbecues.
